Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly bookish meme created by Rukky @ Eternity Books and has been hosted by Aria from @booknookbits since April of this year! Each Friday, there is a discussion topic for bloggers to write about. This week’s topic is all about ebooks (Fives @ Down the Rabbit Hole))!
Prompts: Are ebooks the future of books? What are the advantages and disadvantages of ebooks? Are ebooks strictly better than physical books? Do all avid readers prefer real, paper books? Do you use an e-reader, or read on a phone/tablet? Do you ever find yourself missing one or the other?
Let’s start!

Are ebooks the future of books?
I know that there is an ever-going discussion ebooks of [physical books? What is better? Well, I won’t add anything new to the topic, I’ll just say that depends on your personal taste: whether you prefer ebooks or physical books doesn’t really matter as long as you are enjoying the process of reading a book.
I think ebooks definitely added a great deal to the future of books but to call them the future would be a little bit rush. I don’t think people will even stop reading physical books as well.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of ebooks?
The definite advantage is that you can take an ebook everywhere you go: it’s not big and will easily fit in a bag. Besides it’s less possible to damage an ebook than a physical book.
On the negative side, some people do not feel comfortable reading ebooks because there’s no vibe of holding and feeling a real book in one’s hands. That might lessen the enjoyment of the reading process.
Are ebooks strictly better than physical books?
No, they are not. Both ebooks and physical books have their advantages and disadvantages which I have listed above.
Do all avid readers prefer real, paper books?
Again, that depends strictly on one’s preferences. I am an avid reader and I read mostly ebooks because it is more convenient and cheaper for me than ordering physical copies. Other avid readers might feel differently.
Do you use an e-reader, or read on a phone/tablet?
Definitely Kindle! I used to read on phone and tablet but I found that my eyes were so tired after a couple of hours of reading. Noe with an e-reader I feel my eyes are not as tense and besides once you started using an e-reader you can’t get back to phone or tablet, lol.
Do you ever find yourself missing one or the other?
Not really. If I feel like reading an ebook but have only a physical copy, I will probably get an ebook from somewhere and vice versa. But I am less in the mood of reading physical books these days. Funny that I have three fresh physical books I bought this year to read them in Summer: lounging on the sun and enjoying a cold drink and a nice book. But I haven’t managed that yet, sticking to ebooks still.
What about you? Do you prefer physical books or ebooks or both? Please share your thoughts!
I completely agree with all your comments here and I have to say I feel the same way. I’m also a kindle reader! And no matter how much I like physical books, the convenience (and price, etc.) of the e-book just almost always trumps the day. Great post!

Great answers! I don’t think e-books will ever replace physical books for some people and who knows what will be invented in the future to replace them!

I know right! No matter what other book formats people come up with, physical books will never disappear.
