ARC review: The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air #2) by Holly Black👑

SPOILERS! DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE BOOK YET!

* Locke’s attempt to kill Jude was a total surprise for me, the sex between Jude and Cardan (though who am I kidding, it was the best surprise ever!), The Ghost’s betrayal, Jude killing Balekin, Taryn’s betrayal. Again. That bitch! Jude becoming High Queen and then being exiled. And, of course, my deviously lovely Cardan taking the most important chess piece on the board.

* Ohmygod, Cardan finally got an upper hand! It felt just to feed Jude her own medicine. She can see now what it means to feel powerless when someone pulls your strings. Though I don’t think Cardan exiled her out of spite (just a tiny bit), but because he was saving her form a more dire punishment for killing Balekin. But am I wicked for loving Vivi’s advice for Jude to join Madoc to hurt Cardan? You know, lovers quarrel means hot reunion *wiggles brows*
